Plastics are ubiquitous
Plastics is the generic term for a whole range of materials. They can differ significantly with respect to their properties, structure and composition.
The key components of all plastics are organic compounds which are either produced synthetically or arise from the conversion of natural products such as crude oil or natural gas. Different properties and processing possibilities are achieved by adding mineral salts.
Plastic profiles have many good properties
Plastic profiles are chemical resistant and far less prone to corrosion than metals thanks to their chemical bond. They are resistant to acids, bases and aqueous solutions. Only organic solvents, such as benzene or alcohol, attack or damage the surface of plastics.
Most plastics have low density. In some cases the distance between the molecules is comparatively large, making the material permeable. However, plastics differ widely with respect to their permeability. Today, plastics are indispensable as membranes for seawater desalination, special packaging foils or as organic replacements in the medical industry.
Plastics have low conductivity, insulate electrical parts and protect from heat and cold.
Plastic profiles are sustainable
Many plastics can be reused frequently and reprocessed as granulate or grist without losing their properties. Plastics that are non-recyclable due to their chemical components can be disposed of by special combustion technology and serve for energy generation.
Recycling plastic requires great experience and know-how in order to ensure high quality and process safety. Out of conviction we have committed to recycling for decades.
We are specialized in profiles made from thermoplastics and fully recyclable plastics, processing different types of hard and soft PVC as well as ABS. We only use raw materials which are consistent with REACH and RoHS standards.
