A humble start

Karl Peter was born shortly before the outbreak of World War II in Pirmasens, experiencing war time in the then still thriving center of German shoe industry. After his apprenticeship as patternmaker at a company building machines for shoe manufacturing, he started working for Firma Kömmerling, a German pioneer of plastic processing. Karl Peter was fascinated by the possibilities offered by the new material. He acquired a degree at a technical college and then decided to found his own company.

The small warehouse of a shut down construction company, hardly big enough for an extruder, an old mixer and a turning lathe, served as the cradle of Karl Peter Kunststoffe GmbH. Thanks to the enthusiasm of the its founder and his sense for the wide range of applications of plastic profiles, the young company was quickly thriving and growing. The building soon turned out to be too small, and in 1972 Karl Peter Kunststoffe moved to its current premises in Münchweiler.

In 2019, after 47 successful years of managing the company as major shareholder, Karl Peter entrusted the company`s ownership to Jochen Staudter, whose father has been the company`s head of sales and shareholder for over 15 years. Thus, the company remains as a family-run institution with focus on highest quality standards and sustainability.
